Bio:
Shawn Howard is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. She has dedicated over 20 years in the healthcare profession. Before becoming a dual Certified Nurse Practitioner, she worked as a Registered Nurse for 16 years practicing in various clinical settings, which allowed her to explore her expertise in the medical and mental health field. She started her nursing career in 1996 as a Licensed Practical Nurse following in her mother’s footsteps and her passion to care for people. She pursued her undergraduate degree at Southern Union Community College in Opelika, Alabama in 1998. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where she obtained her MSN degree in the concentration of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner. She resides with her family in a small town in Alabama and enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys fishing, swimming, camping, watching classic movies and listening to music. Her clinical philosophy is focused on caring for patients in a holistic approach, which ensures their mental and medical needs are met. This helps her patients and their families reach optimal mental health outcomes.
